Barras Art & Design Centre (BAaD) 54 Calton Entry, Unit 1, G40 2SB, Glasgow
Monday, November 24, 2014 - 11:00 to 19:00

The Glasgow Project Office (GPO) welcome all your intellectual capacities, visionary and cutting-edge environmental ideas, innovative and collaborative research game plans and potential design services and products to dwell this new place for creative youth industry.

The GPO constitutes a pioneering new initiative among the architectural education centres in Scotland.  It is led by the Department of Architecture and supported by the University of Strathclyde (UDS).  The GPO articulates innovative and sustainable Educational, Research and Knowledge Exchange activity by engaging staff, tutors and students in live projects, design entry competitions, consultancy, internships and start-up-ideas.

The GPO Open Day will take place on Monday 24th of November (all day) from 11.00am until the evening.  The Glasgow Project Office is located in the Barras Art and Design (BAaD) centre, which is a creative hub sheltering an eclectic mix of industrious talents under one roof.  It is a unique building in Glasgow with a spectacular covered courtyard with a glazed roof, supported on steel arches that accommodate a variety of amenities.  The art space is situated at the core of Glasgow's Barras Market: 54 Calton Entry, Unit 1, G40 2SB, Glasgow.

During this day you will have the opportunity to meet fellows, graduates and industry visitors.  Students and staff will present selected works related to youth entrepreneur initiative, social work in the South, live projects like MOBILELAND and others and applied research.  The entire day will be animated with video projections, music, cafe board and a key lecture.

On behalf of our Department, we kindly invite you to attend this event and engage in the talks, films, exhibits, lecture and discussions.  You are all welcome to bring your ideas and discuss them openly with Derek and myself during the morning and afternoon talks allocated in the main programme.
