Dave studied Mechanical Engineering and has an M.B.A. focusing on Innovation. Leading the renewable heat part of Star Refrigeration, Dave has a keen interest in low carbon energy systems, especially heat using heat pumps. He is involved in the energy clinics within CeeD.

Johnny Mone is the Head of Enterprise Services at the University of the West of Scotland.

Johnny, who took up the post on 12 May 2015, joined UWS from the Scottish digital agency, Brightfire Ltd, where he held the post of Vice President of Business Development.

Johnny is a vastly experienced business development and management professional and prior to joining Brightfire in 2012, he was Director of Strategic Alliances for Ephox, in California which specialises in content authoring software. From 2006 to 2010 he was Senior Vice President of Boston-based specialist software and services company, Vamosa Inc.

As Head of Enterprise Services at UWS, Johnny takes a lead role in the transformation of UWS into an even more industry-focused University. Johnny’s customer-centric philosophy helps build and maintain UWS’s reputation as one of Scotland’s most accessible universities for businesses as evidenced in revenue growth and customer satisfaction.

Johnny, who lives in Glasgow, said: “UWS was founded with a spirit of entrepreneurship and has an extremely strong reputation in the Scottish university sector for the quality of its student experience and the difference it makes to their lives and the wider economy. I am delighted to be helping UWS make an even bigger difference through developing its enterprise mission.”

Gordon studied EEE with speciality in Environmental Engineering at the University of Hull, also various Post Graduate vocational studies focused on Semiconductor Manufacturing. Over a 22 year period Gordon has held various positions within Texas Instruments UK manufacturing base with most recent responsibilities including process control and engineering talent development.

Professor Monika Foster is the Dean of the School of Business and Enterprise at the University of the West of Scotland. Monika has worked in industry and higher education in the UK, Europe and Far East for over 25 years. Monika has successfully led strategic initiatives to enhance the student experience and especially mature and international student transitions. Monika was responsible for learning, teaching and assessment strategy, including international partnerships (Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore) and quality assurance. Monika’s external profile includes the award of Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and advisory role with HEA to develop a national Framework for Internationalisation, and a title of Visiting Professor from Shandong University of Finance, People’s Republic of China. Monika’s research interests lie in cross-cultural management, employability, internationalization of higher education, intercultural aspects, and leadership and change management (HR). Furthermore, her research interests lie in international mobility and study destination choices and internationalisation of the curriculum.

Joe started his career by gaining a BSc in Mechanical Engineering at Heriot Watt University. With over 30 years' experience in both public and private sectors, Joe’s career has encompassed both technical and commercial roles with a number of blue-chip international companies in the high technology sector and public sector economic development agencies and partner organisations. He has had a significant level of experience in international technical sales and marketing as well as innovation and technology support in running science parks and knowledge transfer initiatives.

Joe is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and is currently Chair of the Scottish Regional Board.
