We are delighted to see CeeD member, Scottish Leather Group, confirmed as lowest carbon leather manufacturer in the world, as featured in the recent The Manufacturer magazine.
Their 2021 Sustainbility Report reveals they are only 4 years away from being carbon neutral. Through a Life Cycle Analysis they discovered their carbon footprint was a low as 1.1kg per hide. They have impleneted a Thermal Energy Plant to transform waste materials into energy. Scottish Leather Group has their own Water Treatment and Recycling Plant to recycle used water.
