Increasing productivity in the Food and Drink industry webinar

October 27th, 2021 2:00 PM   through   4:30 PM

Organised by Highlands & Islands Enterprise with speakers from SMAS, NMIS and CeeD, this workshop will assess workplace efficiency, emerging low-cost technologies and where/how automation might be introduced to support business operations.

As the UK economy recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, labour shortages across many sectors and regions are being exacerbated. Whilst efficiency gains in the workplace won’t make labour shortages go away, they could help companies meet that order, keep that valued customer – maybe even help the business survive.

Join the first in a short series of workshops where you’ll hear from experts on assessing workplace efficiency; learn more about emerging low-cost technologies; and find out how automation might be introduced to support business operations.

Speakers include:
- Caroline Maclellan, HIE innovation team
- Dr Patrick McCarthy, Centre for Engineering Education and Development (CEED)
- John Johnston, Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service (SMAS)
- Dzeti Zait of the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS)
