Overview

As part of the Government’s commitment to Net Zero by 2050, a number of energy innovation programmes are being run by BEIS, the UK Energy Strategy & Policy department, with several projects already underway across a range of sectors.

The Funding competition for Green Distilleries has a focus on fuel switching and enabling technologies to truly assist de-carbonisation. Up to £10M funding is available to support distilleries going green up to 2023. The technology must be applicable to the distillation sector, including from maltings through to maturation.

The objective of the Green Distilleries Competition is to identify, support and then develop credible fuel switching technologies/enabling technologies that can bring about a step-change in their development.

The Briefing Workshop

We are delighted to welcome KTN’s Jenni McDonnell, Knowledge Transfer Manager, Thermal energy systems to this briefing who will give an overview of the Competition and answer any questions you may have, as well as providing some tips for submitting your application. This online workshop will take place on Thursday 24th September 2020, from 11am to 12pm

Jenni will be joined by Dave Pearson, CeeD Chair and Group Sustainable Development Director, Star Refrigeration who will share his experiences of developing green projects in the distillery sector.

If you are a UK-based distillery business, you should join this briefing to learn more about the programme, with an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. Also, to explore opportunities for joint working and potentially putting forward a joint bid for funding.
