New Product Innovation - A Practical Workshop for Manufacturers

Scottish Enterprise
Davison House, Aberdeen, AB22 8GT
Tuesday, March 17, 2015 - 09:30 to 16:30

The Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service is delighted to invite you to our workshop on new product innovation at Davison House, Aberdeen, AB22 8GT on Tuesday 17th March at 9.30am, finishing at 4.30pm.  The workshop will be delivered by Innova Innovation.

Purpose

This workshop will take you through the process of of new product innovation using a number of case studies of successful examples and will cover the following areas:

  • Introduction to new product innovation
  • Idea generation and screening
  • Concept development and business analysis
  • Prototype development and testing
  • Scale-up and launch
  • Tracking and measurement

This workshop will be interactive and informative, providing companies with an opportunity to try our new innovation approaches which can then be transferred back into the business.  There will also be time to network with a range of innovative manufacturing companies and understand innovation approaches across a range of sectors.

Why should you attend?

We know that innovation is integral to business survival and cannot exist in isolation - it needs to have the right environment, support and methods.  A key barrier to innovation for many companies is the perceived high cost of undertaking it or uncertainty about how to approach it.  Often, there is considerable short-term and responsive innovation across manufacturing companies, but too often, this is focused on cost reduction rather than new product innovation and needs to be long term, IP led and transformational.

This workshop will help you identify where you are already innovating in product, process or service and help you systemise your approach providing a robust framework for you to use back in the business.

Who should attend?

Those with responsibility, or involved in product innovation who recognise the need to have the right environment, cost and processes to successfully drive innovation in the business.

The workshop will be delivered by Innova Innovation who has amassed a wealth of experience in innovation management and development.  Participants will leave the workshop with enhanced skills and expertise to think strategically and creatively, using a range of innovation tools and techniques to grow the business and turnover.

The SMAS team will be on hand at the workshop along with the Innovation Specialists from Scottish Enterprise.

The event is free of charge, with limited places, so please book early to avoid disappointment.  You can either register via the link http://tinyurl.com/p2vun52 or by calling the team on 0845 607 8787.
