Event Guide
You are invited to join Innovating Works... for the fourth event of our SME event series: The Importance of Process, a workplace innovation discussion and networking event. Taking place on Tuesday, 24th February at The Melting Pot, Edinburgh, This informal and open event aims to provide SMEs with inspiration to improve their workplaces and their profitability through workspace innovation.
This event focuses on your current employees as a source of innovation and the processes for SMEs can utilise in providing additional think space or time for an innovative workplace. We will introduce methods through which organisations can streamline their processes in the hope of unlocking their employees' untapped potential in ways that benefit the employer and employees.

About the Speakers
Jyl Neilson founded Sharpeye Solutions having spent most of her career to date as a business improvement professional and Six-Sigma Master Black Belt, working with organisations such as Direct Line Group, RBS Insurance, Motorola and Scottish Power. Now an independent consultant, Jyl helps organisations of all sizes to improve their business through encouraging innovation. Jyl will talk about how similar firms can use some of the tools developed by larger firms to unleash creativity in the workplace.
Umit Bitici is Professor of Business Performance and Director of Corporate and Executive Relations at Heriot Watt University School of Management. Until December 2013, he was the Director of the Strathclyde Institute for Operations Management at University of Strathclyde. He was also previously Vice President of the Institute of Operations Management and is currently on the Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Board.
