The topic for discussion at the event on 8th October is Growing your business through people.
Many business owners say that their employees are their business. Employing people is a great opportunity to build business success through implementing great people management practices that are proven to have a positive impact on everyone in the business, including the business owner, and on the bottom line. Getting it right however is not always easy, particularly given the extent of red tape and employment regulation in place.
At this event a panel of speakers will explore how to get the best from your people, strategies for successful employment that will have a positive impact on your business, and how to avoid some of the the pitfalls of employing people and prevent people problems. There will also be explanation of some options that are available to help business who employ people. There will be plenty of opportunity for participation and questions, whether you are a sole trader looking to take on your first employee, an established and expanding business, or anything in between.
This event is held as part of the East Lothian Business Week (6 - 10 October 2014). So, there will be plenty of opportunities to network with local business people.
