5S Workplace Organisation/The Visual Factory - A catalyst for change

Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service
William Grant & Sons Ltd, Strathclyde Business Park, Bellshill
Wednesday, December 17, 2014 - 09:00 to 12:30

William Grant & Sons Ltd and the Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service are pleased to invite you to share their Learning Journey at the company's bottling facility in Bellshill on Wednesday 17th December at 9.00am.

Purpose

See and hear first hand how William Grant's Bellshill facility has introduced 5S Workplace Organisation and Visual Management - key underlying concepts of Lean Manufacturing.

The benefits achieved at William Grant go way beyond the simple efficiency gains from 'a place for everything and everything in its place'.  You will hear about their ongoing journey from initial false starts of trying to introduce 5S to the plant wide implementation and the way this work has become a catalyst for change across the organisation.

In addition, you will hear and see how the site uses a series of visual clues and communication that ensure that all essential information is available at the right time and in the right place.

Why would you attend?

A visual workplace is one of the key elements of a truly Lean working environment and is something that everyone should strive towards.  The associated benefits to the business and the employees are exceptional and often implemented at very low cost.

You have the opportunity to meet this local company, to learn about their Lean journey and to take a tour of the bottling hall to view the improvements first hand.

The event is free of charge, with limited places, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

We do hope you can make it and look forward to welcoming you on the day.
