We’re thrilled to announce a brand-new category for the upcoming CeeD Annual Industry Awards: the Data for Change Award, sponsored by the Failure Modes of Engineering (FeME) project. This award was inspired by FeME’s vision to recognise individuals and small teams who use data in innovative ways to drive positive change, whether that’s tackling global challenges like climate change, improving biodiversity, or creating social impact through technology.
Why This Matters to CeeD
At CeeD, we’ve always believed that innovation starts with people. The growing use of data and AI offers incredible opportunities for productivity and progress, but these technologies cannot succeed without a people-centric approach. That’s why we’re delighted to partner with FeME on this award, which shines a spotlight on those who put people at the heart of data-driven solutions.
About the FeME Project
The FeME Project is dedicated to empowering women and under-represented groups in data and AI, fostering inclusion and driving innovation. Their commitment to diversity and equality aligns perfectly with our own values at CeeD. By sponsoring this award, FeME is helping to celebrate those who are making a difference through data, often in ways that go unnoticed, especially in disadvantaged communities and the Global South.
Championing Diversity and Inclusion
This award also reflects another principle we hold dear: tackling inequality. Creating fairer opportunities for disadvantaged groups not only changes lives but also builds a stronger, more balanced talent pool. These efforts deliver economic value and meaningful social impact, something both CeeD and FeME are passionate about promoting.
Join Us at the CeeD Awards
We can’t wait to see the incredible projects and people nominated for this category. The CeeD Annual Industry Awards are all about recognising excellence across Scotland’s manufacturing and engineering sectors, and this new award adds an exciting dimension to that celebration.
