Empowering Managers to Lead Flexibly: New Workshops from Flexibility Works

Supporting line managers is key to unlocking the full potential of flexible working across Scotland.

Flexible working continues to deliver major benefits for organisations — from improved wellbeing and retention to stronger recruitment outcomes. But while policies set the framework, it’s managers who shape the day-to-day experience of flexible work and influence workplace culture.

Recent research by Flexibility Works with Scottish employers reveals that 1 in 3 believe some line managers are resistant to greater flexibility, and many others say managers are keen to support flex but lack the tools and confidence to do so effectively.

To address this, Flexibility Works is offering dedicated workshops for managers designed to build confidence, share practical strategies, and foster a culture where flexible working thrives.

Two Tailored Workshops for Different Experience Levels

Flex Explore - Flexibility Works
Ideal for less experienced managers, this session covers:

  • Legal responsibilities around flexible working
  • Designing and managing flexible arrangements that benefit both individuals and teams
  • Navigating common challenges in flexible working environments

Flex Forward - Manager Training - Flexibility Works
Designed for experienced managers, this workshop focuses on:

  • Leveraging flexible working in high-performing teams
  • Keeping projects on track in a flex environment
  • Building connection and collaboration among dispersed colleagues

Both workshops are 2.5 hours long, delivered in person or online, and packed with tools managers can use immediately. They’re led by Flexibility Works’ friendly and experienced team, who’ve supported hundreds of employers across Scotland.
