We hosted our Net Zero TradingZone event in November 2024, which brought a diverse range of businesses together to tackle key industry challenges on sustainability.
The concept of TradingZone was brought to CeeD by our MD, Joe Pacitti, who believes in the power of networking with a purpose. The theme of the November event was Net Zero, which gave six businesses the opportunity to speed-pitch to a room full of industry peers and support agencies.
Our pitchers for the day were FC Labs, Marine Biopolymers, Silvibio, Grampian Growers, AMYBO and EarthSelf Community Interest Group. On the theme of sustainability, these companies pitched their needs, asks, and offers to the room.
Pitches included opportunities to be first movers in pilot studies, asks on repurposing waste, the need for niche expertise, asks for suppliers and collaborators, needs for key equipment and more. When the networking commenced, the room was buzzing, and our pitchers all came away with lots of different leads and connections. TradingZone really highlights the value of bringing people together to overcome shared problems. As we like to say at CeeD – the smartest person in the room IS the room. Nobody knows everything, but we all know something.
We were also fortunate to hear some expertise from across the CeeD network. Key speakers (and Platinum sponsor of the CeeD Industry Awards 2025), Booth Welsh provided insights on Industry 5.0, the rapid progression of digital technologies and what that all means for the environment. They provided demonstrations of their innovative energy monitoring dashboard, combining up-to-date tech and critical sustainability insights. At CeeD, as understand the importance of staying up to date with Cyber, and we will be delivering more on this topic in the coming months – so keep an eye out for that!
In addition, OnGen, ACS Clothing, 4c Design and Plexus joined us for an insightful panel discussion, highlighting creative solutions to net zero. Our panellists provided a very realistic yet inspirational discussion on their own personal pursuits in sustainability, touching on a variety of innovative ways we can all support the national net zero goal.
During this packed event, we were also delighted to hear from Interface, Business Energy Scotland and the SBCC on the diverse range of opportunities that exist across Scotland, to support businesses on their sustainability journeys. We would like to thank all our speakers again for being a part of the day.
At CeeD, we are always delighted to host such a full and engaged room and we really look forward to hearing about the collaborations formed at our Net Zero Trading Zone.
