British Business Bank has conducted their latest series of SME Research reports, which capture the views of peers in the ecosystem concerning the key challenges smaller businesses face when accessing finance.
The report presents findings from the online survey completed by more than 500 intermediaries as well as from 60 follow-up qualitative interviews undertaken between October and December 2022, in partnership with Ipsos.
According to the feedback they received, demand for finance within the UK was considered strong across all stages of development for smaller businesses, but particularly those starting up, surviving in uncertain times and scaling up. However, the majority of UK intermediaries saw their ecosystem as inadequate to support small businesses who are surviving in uncertain times.
