In May, several local businesses swapped a day in the office for a day of Footie, in a bid to raise cash for young families in the Northeast.
Local Steel and Cladding company and CeeD member, KR Group, invited clients and associates to a 5-aside football tournament in Aberdeen. The day was well attended and raised £960, as well as gathering over £500 worth of essential items for babies and children.
KR Group’s Managing Director, Kenny Robertson and one of the players in KR Group’s team, commented:
"After the last couple of years, it was a great day and a chance to reconnect face to face with other local businesses."It was a good bit of competitive fun but also an opportunity to raise some cash for babies and kids in what is a tough time for a lot of families. AberNecessities are doing great things just now which is why we chose them as our charity for the year.”“We have already started discussing next year’s tournament,” concludes Kenny. “We want to go bigger, better, and raise even more cash for good causes. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year, and some new faces too.”
AberNecessities provides disadvantaged families with the essential and basic necessities, such as maternity bundles for mother and baby, nappies, formula milk, clothing, toys and equipment for children aged 0-18 years.
