Great visit to Ryanair Engineering

We were delighted to run our latest ‘AyrSHARE’ event - a visit to Ryanair Engineering (Prestwick Aircraft Maintenance Ltd [PAML]) on 1st May 2024.

The team at PAML were fantastic hosts and very much at their busiest and most hectic period ahead of a three month period in the summer where all planes need to be flying!

Finalists in the Skills Development category at the CeeD Awards 2024, they gave a super insight to their new and expanding Training Centre where they explained the different training modules they take new Aircraft Technicians through which includes Technical skills like basic hand skills in sheet metal work and Non-Technical skills, such as working effectively in teams. They now have over 600 employees working across the site 24 hours a day and that will continue to grow.

We got an in depth tour of the maintenance hangar facilities including the main aircraft bays and various supporting workshops where they manufacture and also remanufacture / refurbish many aircraft components to aviation accredited standards to help reduce costly, time constrained and inefficient supply chains.

They closed with a short presentation on how they transition and support their new trainees from training centre to working on the actual aircraft, including a defined pathway, logbook process, and ‘buddy’ process.

Many thanks to Ryanair Engineering for hosting this fabulous in-person event.
