Fully funded PhD studentships available from Napier

The School of Engineering & the Built Environment at Edinburgh Napier University is seeking to widen its already extensive collaboration with industry through student-led research with CeeD members.

Eight, fully-funded PhD studentships are available for study in the School of Engineering and the Built Environment. Further information on eligibility for these scholarships can be found here.

An additional eight, part-funded PhD studentships are available for university business-led research collaborations and the University seeks expressions of interest from CeeD members wishing to support student-led research or who have suitably qualified staff wishing to undertake research leading to the award of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

The University will contribute £8000 towards the student stipend plus the cost of registration for study at the University (£5,075 for UK students and £15,205 for International students) per annum for a term of three years.

SMEs and larger businesses wishing to collaborate with the University through this mechanism would need to commit to matching the University’s contribution towards the student stipend ie £24000 over the three-year term. I

n both cases, research can be carried out in the areas of: mechanical engineering and design; electrical engineering and mathematics; civil transport and environmental engineering and construction and surveying. A full range of possible PhD projects can be found at here
