Fuel Change: Inspiring the Next Gen to take Control of the Climate Crisis

Fuel Change is a brand new platform for the next generation to take control of the climate crisis and drive Scotland towards net zero.

Launched late 2020, Fuel Change works with the Scottish College Sector and the Private Sector to create apprentice teams developing solutions for a carbon neutral future. This programme lasts 6 months and encourages young people to select from a list of “challenges”, develop and explore various concepts and solutions, and finalise these for an end-of-program showcase.

So far, 200 apprentices in 38 teams have taken part in 20 projects. One Leonardo Graduate Apprentice said:

“It’s a chance to make a difference, you’ll find that you’ll have to push yourself out of your comfort zone and get the info you need from other companies. If you have the opportunity to go ahead, you should definitely do it as part of your apprenticeship, because ultimately, if your project ends upgoing ahead, your name will be attached to it.”

The second part of this challenge is open now for registration. This is a fantastic opportunity for employers to nurture the talent within your organisation, show your commitment to green issues, and enhance your profile nationally.
