Cyber Essentials Funding - Emerging Technologies & Manufacturing companies
ScotlandIS have secured funding through the Scottish Government, to allow emerging technology organisations to achieve Cyber Essentials (CE) certification. This initiative is supported by Technology Scotland, CeeD and the National Robotarium.
ScotlandIS is offering up to £1,000 per organisation to achieve Cyber Essentials accreditation.
This fund will be distributed to companies operating in emerging technologies – specifically photonics, robotics - and manufacturing and enables you to access up to £1000 to secure CE certification (Terms and Conditions apply).

You must be based in Scotland to be eligible for this fund.

The fund will only cover new applications and not renewals.

Offered on a first come, first served basis.
Successful applicants will have until 31st March 2025 to spend the funding. Those aiming to achieve CE certification will have until 1st of July 2025 to complete the process.

IASME Pathways Programme
IASME is developing Pathways, an alternative route to Cyber Essentials Plus for large and complex organisations who, for legitimate reasons, are not able to implement some of the required technical controls. These such organisations may have Alternative Technical Controls (ATCs) in place. Pathways is a route whereby these organisations can demonstrate the ATCs which will enable them to meet the overall intended outcome.
Pathways has now been through two stages of experiment and is now in Proof of Concept. Run on a commercial basis, IASME are now offering large companies the opportunity to participate in the Proof of Concept. Strategic Framework for a Cyber Resilient Scotland - End Year Review 2023-24
The Strategic Framework for a Cyber Resilient Scotland sets out Scottish Ministers’ vision for making Scotland a digitally secure and resilient nation. The Framework is aligned to the UK Cyber Strategy, which outlines outcome pillars to improve national cyber security. Scotland contributes primarily to the Cyber Ecosystem and Cyber Resilience pillars in the UK strategy.
Scotland’s Strategic Framework has four Action Plans for the Public, Private, and Third Sectors and for Learning and Skills. These action plans are led by the Scottish Government’s National Cyber Resilience Unit (NCRU) and the Scottish Cyber Coordination Centre (SC3) and implemented in collaboration with partners from across the public, private and third sectors.
