CeeD members visit Woodward

As we start to run more in-person events and factory tours, we were delighted to visit Woodward's Aircraft Turbine Systems in Prestwick, as part of our Continuous Improvement series of workshops.

Thanks to Scott Hughes and Paul McDonagh, Continuous Improvement Manager, at Woodward for a great visit and discussion with our CeeD members. Also to Engineering Supervisor Jamie Brown and Engineers Kirsty Harvey & Neil Nightingale who showed us around and made us feel very welcome.

During the visit, we heard about the business creating the Woodward Production System built on their True North principles to support the implementation of standardised work, and the roll-out of LEAN methods, which was very informative.

We learned that Woodward has continuously reviewed and updated through lessons learned in the way it navigates and progresses on its CI journey - in fact they now have an online barcode-driven 'find it, fix it' process for capturing improvement ideas which is really innovative.

Thanks to our members for a great turnout too.

If you missed the first two workshops in the series, you can watch them back by sending an email to David MacGregor.
