Announcing the CeeD Awards Winners ...

We are delighted to announce the winners of the CeeD Annual Industry Awards 2022, in association with Volvo Construction Equipment and Rokbak.

The competition was very high across all categories and we'd like to thank all those who entered and the very deserving finalists.

Around 600 people came together at the Glasgow Hilton 24th February 2022 to recognise and celebrate the achievements of some of the best established and rising-star organisations and individuals in Scotland. Thanks to CA Models who designed and produced our fabulous trophies.

Contribution to Mitigate Covid-19 - sponsored by Business Gateway

WINNER: JWF Process Solutions

During the pandemic, NHS Scotland approached JWF to assist in developing a non-invasive, accurate oxygen measurement system. Situated in key locations with the ability to provide “real time” data that could be used and monitored by estate managers and clinicians.

Best Practice Sharing Award - sponsored by the University of the West of Scotland

WINNER: Centre for Offsite Construction & Innovative Structures (Edinburgh Napier University)

COCIS advances progress towards a Net Zero future for the Built Environment, demonstrating significant impact across skills, education, research, innovation, and commercial acceleration through collaborative working practices across stakeholders in the construction industry.

Skills Development Award - sponsored by Skills Development Scotland

WINNER: ID Systems UK

Recognising a skills shortfall in the industry, IDS committed to developing their talent through recruitment of graduate and craft apprentices. The creation of their internal training academy is already providing benefits for existing staff for their new intake.

Knowledge Exchange Excellence Award - sponsored by Alexander Dennis Ltd

WINNER: University of the West of Scotland KTP Centre

The first University in Scotland to invest in a dedicated KTP Centre, they have gone from outside the top 50 in the UK to number one in Scotland and a top-3 position in the UK in 2021, securing over £10m in funding for 50 partner projects to date.

With a vision to become the catalyst that makes Scotland one of the safest and most resilient places to live, work, and do business, on and offline, SBRC in partnership with Scottish Government and Police Scotland, have launched the UK’s first free cyber incident response helpline for the SME community and the third sector to help victims of cyber-crime

EGG investigated the legislative obligations for remanufacturers, testing requirements, measuring & reporting on the environmental benefits. This project will achieve significant savings in capital & material costs & 84% reduction in emissions.

Collaboration in NetZero - sponsored by Star Refrigeration Ltd

WINNER: University of Strathclyde - Climate Neutral Programme

Led by Strathclyde, the team including Atkins with COMSOF, STAR, Minibems, Smarter Grid Solutions, Ikigai and Energy Systems Catapult, have worked together to develop a vision and projects of NetZero significance. Project 1 focuses on the creation of a Climate Neutral Innovation District in Glasgow City Centre.

A project with Costa WEEE Scotland has enabled a successful adoption of a circular business model, which has seen the business drive down it’s carbon footprint (c150 tonnes PA) and make significant cost savings, way beyond customer expectations.

Volvo delivered a full rebrand campaign to rebranding the Terex brand to Robak, achieving the first new stand-alone brand launch by Volvo Group, with a strong focus on sales whilst enabling a smooth transition from a strong and renowned legacy brand. 

Transformational Change or Pivot through Covid19 - sponsored by Booth Welsh Integrated Engineering Services

FoodMek needed to adapt to keep their factory busy, pivoting their business to enter a new market, manufacturing pressure vessels in record time for a Scottish Pharma client who produce media used in COVID tests kits across the UK and Europe.
