Innovation is a risky business. Whether you’re an existing business or just starting up, it can be costly and time-consuming to launch a new, sustainable product that’s attractive to the end user.
Join CeeD and 4C Design on 22nd September at 9.30am for Innovation is a Risky Business: What makes good design?
“Good design is one of the most vital catalysts for growth and (return on investment) that a company can employ” (McKinsey) and should be one of the first things manufacturers and innovators consider. Too often, the design team is brought in to "dress up the product".
If introduced early in the innovation process with proper consideration of whether something can be manufactured, what it can be made from, who is going to use it and how, and where they'll do that can reduce the cost of new product or process development as well as time to market and, importantly, mitigate against product failure.
Will Mitchell, owner and Design Director of award winning 4C-Design will illustrate other real-life examples of where, through proper consideration of these factors, 4C has influenced both the design brief and reduced technical risk involved in the launch of new products.
