They are based at 10 Wheatfield Road, Edinburgh with around 300 employees and are now part of Johnson Matthey’s Health sector.

They are the world's leading manufacturer of opiate alkaloids and – together with their sister companies, Johnson Matthey Pharmaceutical Materials (NJ, USA) and Johnson Matthey Pharma Services (MA, USA) – they are able to provide the full spectrum of development, from drug discovery through to bulk production

Reliability Management Process

Johnson Matthey initiated a reliability change process over 18 months ago in partnership with change management specialists Reliable Manufacturing Ltd. During this visit JM will outline the approach they are taking to create a high reliability organisation and share their experiences in the form of successes, challenges and learning in their journey so far.

Andrew Fraser (Managing Director of Reliable Manufacturing) will explain the significance of Reliability as a core business value and how high reliability performance is achieved through leadership and cultural change, whilst also sharing some of the tools and techniques used in the journey.

Richard Gibb and Alan Campbell (Johnson Matthey’s Reliability Team) will give examples of where these tools and techniques have been applied, share with you some of their successes and also where they have faced challenges and gained valuable learning along the way.
