Organisational interest in Big Data is intensifying.  Driven on by cheap, affordable technology, many organisations strive continuously for a competitive edge through constant scrutiny of a myriad of data e.g. customer transactions, social media profiles, web-browsing, loyalty cards, phone-location trackers to predict and exploit emerging trends.  However, the key to success is to see these Big Data tools as they key to unleashing more creativity.  So organisations need a strategy that incorporates how to manage Big Data.

This workshop will provide an overview of the trends, challenges and opportunities of exploiting Big Data to transform your business.

Individuals and companies who attend this workshop will be able to:

  • Understand the difference between business intelligence and data science
  • Use a Big Data Business Model Maturity Index to benchmark their ability to exploit Big Data
  • Outline key Big Data technologies, techniques, tools and trends
  • Describe a strategic Big Data framework to shape their own business organisation

The workshop will draw upon examples from a wide-range of commercial and industrial, private and public sectors.
