Controlling airborne contaminants at work – Understanding requirements under Regulations 9 and 10 of COSHH
There are many reasons why managing indoor air quality in workplaces is inadequate, or missing completely. Issues can include a lack of understanding of the risk of exposure to hazardous substances, difficulties in managing contaminants and lack of knowledge in the design of engineering controls (e.g. LEV).
Why attend?
This seminar will assist you to understand your responsibilities and show you how to identify and implement effective controls. Experts with experience of Occupational Hygiene and LEV design will be on hand. Subjects for discussion will include
- Effective occupational Hygiene/Monitoring.
- Health Surveillance under COSHH.
- Developing and managing your engineering controls (e.g. LEV)
- Relationship to other EHS requirements (e.g. environmental permitting)
Ross Ramsay, Manager – Mechanical & Electrical Engineering and Omar Khalid, Manager – Health & Safety, will be presenting this. There is a potential that we can get a very experienced associate (and now retired Mabbett employee) of ours to join us at this clinic. He would add some additional points, however as I haven’t heard back from him yet (regarding his availability), I’d say to start advertising as it is, and then we can always update the blurb/flyers if things change.
