Dave Pearson Biography

Dave is a Mechanical Engineer with over 20 years of experience of life inside the UKs largest industrial cooling contractor. With a Masters in Business Administration focused on Innovation, the next step wasn’t surprising with a diversification strategy that took him and the business from fish fingers and ice rinks to delivering the world’s largest high temperature ammonia heat pump district heating solution in 2010.

Then, more recently, the UK’s largest high temperature river sourced heat pump solution in Clydebank.

A breadth of experience supporting industry groups has led Dave to be exposed to some of the widest thinking across this sector, notably an appointment to the Scottish Energy Advisory Board.

A native of Glasgow, where he still lives, he might not be vegan but does drive an electric car and lives in a heat pump heated (gas free) 1950s bungalow- far from perfectly designed.

Engagements have included:

  • - Chair of the Centre for Engineering Education and Development Scotland (CeeD)

  • - Former Chair of the Renewable Heating and Cooling Platform (Horizon2020)

  • - Former Scottish Renewables Board Member

  • - Founding member of the Industrial & Commercial Heat Pump group at the European Heat Pump Association

  • - Panel member of various industry working groups including the Association of Decentralised Energy

Dave is a strong advocate of academia and industry collaboration, often giving lectures for student groups or mentoring undergraduate projects.

Whilst not a policy or lobbying junkie, he spends a significant amount of time trying to direct Government leaders to create the canvas on which sustainability can accelerate from pipe dream to normality as quickly as possible.
