WHY ONGOING INVESTMENT IN CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT EQUALS INCREASED RETURNS FOR YOUR MANUFACTURING BUSINESS.

CeeD, in collaboration with Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise, are delighted to continue the series of workshops and forums exploring why and how organisations choose to invest in Continuous Improvement with our 4th session on Wednesday 13th July at 10am.

We have so far explored a variety of best practice case studies from Diodes Inc, Dover Fueling and Woodward Aircraft Engineering - contact David MacGregor if you'd like to view a recording of these events).

So, how can you now start or continue your own CI journey and what are the key enablers to successful, sustainable and value adding Continuous Improvement?

Is it funding and financial challenges stopping your investment into CI or is it having people with the right skills and a process to deliver and sustain CI within your business?

Join us to hear from:

Jim Lockhart, Partner at Armstrong Watson

Jim is a qualified chartered accountant who has worked in independent practice, with a big four firm, and has industry experience through positions at a manufacturing plc and an international design agency. Jim is also a Chartered Tax Advisor and is also involved in business strategy and fundraising.  Jim will bring his breadth of knowledge to the session highlighting several financial support routes and instruments that could unlock the financial resources needed for that next CI investment project.

Barry Munro, business owner of Munro Business Consultancy

Barry is focused on delivering Process Improvement, Business Excellence & Leadership Development.  He has over 25 years’ experience working with all types of manufacturing companies from SMEs through to multinational organisations in industries such as Automotive, Telecommunications, Electronics, Engineering, Food and Drink, Logistics, Pharmaceuticals and Aerospace.  Barry has held Inhouse Continuous Improvement Positions for over 10 years, provided Agency / Funded Support for over 5 years and delivered Consultancy Services for 5 years. Barry will explain ways in which an organisation can enable Continuous Improvement through people and process with the goal of nurturing and developing a sustainable and value adding CI culture.

Continuous Improvement will mean different things to different people and organisations, so please do get involved, register now, and bring your own experiences and challenges to the workshop discussion.

The ambition of the Scottish Government is for Scotland to become the home of manufacturing innovation, to be seen as an inventor and producer, not just a consumer of goods - innovative, thriving and international looking.

Let’s all be a part of continuing to make a strong manufacturing sector to help drive Scotland's economic recovery and future prosperity.
