COP-26 has re-emphasised the focus on climate change and the need for decarbonisation which is set to fundamentally change markets, industries, and companies. Businesses are wondering how they will be able to fund and meet climate change targets set by the UK government.

Given “businesses can no longer ignore the physical, market and regulatory impacts of climate change” CeeD, working with Ernst & Young LLP (EY), will set out to answer the questions:

  • -    What does Net Zero mean post COP-26?
  • -    What are the implications of Net Zero for the engineering and manufacturing sectors in Scotland?
  • -    How can businesses decarbonise? – we will look at some case studies
  • -    What Government financial incentives exist? Grant options for business decarbonisation

In an effort to keep temperature rises to <1.5°C, the recent COP-26 event in Glasgow agreed a package of actions but what does this mean in practice for the manufacturing sector in Scotland? It is now clear why we need to do this, but do we know how to realise the objectives?

This webinar will capture some of the key practical take-aways from COP-26. Harry Gaskell, EY Purpose & Sustainability Lead, will take the audience through the challenge of decarbonisation and the levers that businesses can pull to reach Net Zero. This will be brought to life through some case studies that will suggest practical actions that might aid the audience with their own strategic endeavours.

EY will introduce ‘EY Carbon’ - a 2022 initiative set to lead the way in helping clients develop strategy, technologies and the operational transformation needed to tackle climate change.

Kay Greenshields, who leads the EY Grants team in Scotland, will take the audience through practical tips on navigating and securing grant funding. The webinar will explore some of the current and emerging grants into 2022 that specifically target this agenda and can be leveraged for sustainable commercial growth.
