Communication is a core leadership function.  In fact, leadership and communication are inextricably linked, engaging the hearts and minds of our employees.

As leaders, we need to be highly skilled communicators and ambassadors, engaging and managing multiple relationships both inside and outside our businesses.

We need to think with clarity, express complex ideas simply, and share information with many and varied audiences to deliver common purpose and message. We are ultimately responsible for the continuous flow of information within the organisation, and externally, with customers, partners, and our supply chain.

As leaders, we are expected to have a clear and understandable vision for the business, a continuity of message and style, a distinctive presentation flair that inspires others to contribute to the success of that business, and above all, we need to demonstrate credibility and trust while creating distinction.

We need to act as exemplars to lead for others to follow.

Everyday we all see examples of good management styles; straight-forward communication, both verbal and written; our employees see contracts fought and won with confident presentations; our teams they follow leaders they have trust, respect and believe in - and subsequently they contribute to the efficient and effectiveness of the organisation.

Conversely, many individuals see the exact opposite. This leads to internal disruption, lack of clarity about the business and its vision, high staff turn-over, unnecessary increased costs, lost business and reputational damage to the organisation and subsequently to you, professionally.

What is clear is that communication embraces culture and is at the heart of the DNA of our organisations.

During this Executive breakfast briefing, you will have the opportunity to consider your philosophy and ethos, analyse your own communication style and that of your organisation.

We'll focus on key themes:

  • The value and impact of communication
  • Communication styles – how can we inspire
  • How we can optimise our messages and market presence
