Trendy 2b Negative – Kingston Police Case Study.

The organisational benefits of developing an engaged workforce are well known to us all, but despite the huge investment that organisations make in this area, very few achieve this desired end state.

To the extent that there are some who are now questioning whether an engaged workforce is achievable, especially in the challenging environments in which we are now operating. They believe that a new generation of working cultures, extensive organisational change and austerity, prevent us from fully engaging our employees.

Glenn Tunstall is going to challenge this theory, based on his own experience as a former Chief Superintendent in the Metropolitan Police.

Three years prior to leaving the police, Glenn took command of one of London’s worst performing and most disengaged commands and subsequently, led them to become the most engaged workforce in London, the highest performing policing command and heralded in the national media as ‘London’s Safest Borough’.

In telling the story of this incredible leadership journey, Glenn will provide a detailed insight into the challenges he faced and how we sought to overcome these, not always at the first attempt.

Through his humorous storytelling Glenn will give us a fantastic insight into the challenging culture of the police service and through his energetic and passionate presentation, he will inspire and motivate us.

Following his presentation, Glenn will facilitate a workshop, based on one of the key elements of his model, to allow us to share in the collective experience of everyone attending this event.

Since leaving the police, Glenn founded Merida Consulting, specialising in employee engagement and leadership development. Despite now living in Perthshire, Glenn travels all over the UK, speaking at national conferences and business leadership events. In addition, Glenn uses his extensive experience to support UK wide organisations in successfully engaging their people.
