Pathways & Progress: Reimagining Career Journeys in Engineering
Engineering offers more routes in than ever before, from apprenticeships and graduate programmes to career changes, upskilling, and internal progression. Pathways & Progress explores how organisations can better showcase these routes and create pathways that are accessible, visible, and inclusive.
Hosted at member company Aggreko, winners of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Award at the CeeD Annual Industry Awards, this session will feature an expert panel drawn from across the organisation, including:
- Nic MacPherson, Operations Director, sharing Aggreko’s approach to engineering and her own pathway into the sector
- Dawn Demellweek, Director of Sustainability & Compliance, discussing Aggreko’s recent CeeD award, inclusion in practice, and practical ways organisations can embed inclusive thinking
- Kevin Graham, Senior Controls Engineer, exploring internal mobility, qualifications, apprenticeships, and the role of progression within engineering teams
- Additional Aggreko colleagues contributing perspectives on accessibility into engineering and how entry routes and career pathways have evolved
The discussion will focus on practical actions organisations can take, including promoting apprenticeships and alternative routes, supporting internal mobility, widening access, and removing barriers that prevent people from entering and progressing in engineering.
The session will also include a guided tour of Aggreko’s site, offering attendees the opportunity to see engineering in action and continue conversations in a practical, real‑world setting.
As part of the growing Together We Engineer network, this event is designed to equip organisations with ideas, insights, and actions that help broaden participation and strengthen inclusive talent pipelines across the engineering sector.
