How do you prepare for succession to the top leadership role?
CeeD members are invited to attend a half-day Leadership Workshop on Wednesday 25th June, focusing on the transition from second in command, or identified potential successor, to the top job, whether that be CEO, MD, Site Director, General Manager or similar.
This workshop is ideal for both business leaders who are thinking about succession to their role and senior managers, directors or functional heads who have been identified as potential successors to the top job.
In businesses and organisations, we may talk about succession planning and perhaps note those individuals who might be capable of taking over when the time comes but usually struggle to prepare them thoroughly to do so. Preparation is not straightforward: The people concerned are more than fully committed with their current roles and it’s difficult for them to gain experience of having the rounded responsibility of ultimate leadership without actually having the role. The transition is to a very different job.
This highly participative workshop with a significant discussion element explores the issues of preparing for succession and suggests practical solutions to the problems faced by senior leaders either developing successors or contemplating the top job themselves.

Workshop Leader:
This workshop will be led by Dr David Fraser, a long-standing associate of CeeD, for whom he runs two highly regarded leadership groups. David has a senior leadership background in engineering, manufacturing and scientific research. He supports a number of businesses and organisations with organisational and leadership development consultancy. Among other things, these workshops will draw on general management experiences from the 200+ organisations David has worked with. He’s also the author of two books on related matters.
