CeeD are delighted that local Ayrshire business, McCallum Bagpipes have kindly agreed to host the latest 'AyrSHARE' networking and best practice event on Thursday 19th September which aims to engage and bring together Ayrshire businesses and support organisations for community wealth building. Perhaps an unknown and hidden gem, McCallum Bagpipes are the world’s premier Great Highland Bagpipe maker and you will have the opportunity to hear and learn from the McCallum team and to take part in a Site Tour to see up close bagpipes being manufactured.

McCallum Bagpipes was formed in 1998 by existing partners, company directors Stuart McCallum and Kenny MacLeod. The company started out in the crammed conditions of a shed in the McCallum Timber Buildings yard in Kilmarnock’s Moorfield Industrial Estate, but quickly outgrew its surroundings and moved to a self contained unit nearby which enabled the company to increase its workforce and manufacturing capability. In the following years, the company has continued to grow and expand its output.

In a short period of time, McCallum Bagpipes has developed into the world’s leading bagpipe makers manufacturing 40 sets of bagpipes every week along with other products including small pipes and pipe chanters. They manufacture all products in their own factory and don't source any component parts from elsewhere, being in total control of the quality of all products. The business now occupies 10,000 square feet of unit space comprising their factory and also showroom featuring bagpipes, smallpipes, percussion and highlandwear under one roof.

As a business working in or supporting Ayrshire this is your opportunity to see and hear what McCallum Bagpipes do, how they do it and to also meet other organisations creating and developing peer to peer relationships and future b2b support networks. You will also have the opportunity to hear about business growth and support opportunities from our partners at North, South and East Ayrshire Councils and more about the CeeD organisation and the opportunities and support available.

Numbers are very limited and priority will be for Ayrshire and CeeD organisations.
