As part of our campaign to assist Engineering and Manufacturing businesses, The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) in partnership with, Centre for Engineering Education and Development (CeeD), Fife Council Economic Development, Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Services and Interface are delighted to invite you to join us for a workshop on “How to Innovate to increase Productivity” on Wednesday 20th March 2019 from 9:30am to 12:30pm at The Enterprise Hub Fife, 1st Floor, 1 Falkland Gate, Glenrothes, KY7 5NS

Innovation is a means of introducing something new in to your business that enables your business to do what it does best – but better. This could be the improvement of a manufacturing process by removing a known bottleneck. Or the automation of a system that was previously manual.  Or the introduction of new management capability that leads to increased efficiency.  There are many ways that a company can apply innovative practises to become more productive.  This event will explore these topics further and will provide attendees with an overview of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership Program, an initiative that provides a company with both the technical and financial support required to transfer and embed new knowledge, leading to transformative change.

A Professor of Business Performance and Head of the Business Management Department at Heriot Watt University, Umit Bititci has a unique blend of industrial and academic experience that spans over 35 years. He has dedicated his career to understanding what makes high performing companies different. Having been involved in over 30 Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, Umit will share his unique insight in to how to best manage business performance and increase productivity.

Bryan McClusky, Group Operations Director at Highland Spring Group, first experienced KTP’s when he was employed as an associate in 1998.  He has since carved a highly successful career at Highland Spring and will discuss why KTP’s have proved so beneficial to the company.

Kirstine Wood, the Lead Engagement and Submarine Policy Manager for Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks was the company supervisor for their KTP.  She will provide a case study of her positive experience in enabling their project to realise its full potential.

Dr Lorna Howarth will share the latest updates from Innovate UK and KTN.  In particular, news of the latest round of funding that is available to support management capability so that businesses of any size can raise their productivity.

Gerry Borge will explain how SMAS work with companies to help them achieve their full potential whilst Shelley Breckenridge will explain how Interface can help a business connect to the right academic expertise.
