Glasgow Caledonian University are partnering with Skills Development Scotland on the Graduate Level Apprenticeships (GLAs) in Engineering Design and Manufacture.  There will be a cohort starting at the University in September 2017 and we are inviting interested employers along to this event to see the opportunities the GLAs can offer employees on a work and study based degree programme.

Whether you are looking to employ a new member of staff to join your business and study as an Engineering Graduate Level Apprentice, or you have a current employee that would benefit from this opportunity to study onto degree level, this workshop will be of interest to you.  Our workshop, run by Dr Andrew Cowell, Academic Project Lead for our Graduate Level Apprenticeship Programme, will provide all the information you require to make an informed decision on how you can attract new talent but also train, develop and retain your existing engineering skills base.

This is an exciting new approach to skills development and the full education funding being offered through Skills Development Scotland offers employers a real opportunity to grow and build the skills available within their business, presenting an opportunity to work with some of Scotland's leading organisations, to combine academic knowledge with skills development in the workplace.   GCU aims to build on over 30 years of experience in delivering part-time education to Scotland's industry to provide the best of part-time and full-time education.

The information provided during the workshop will include the following:

  • Application Process
  • Detail of Mechanical Engineering content included in the four year BEng (Hons) programme
  • Details of time-tabling and employee commitment required
  • Funding for September 2017 starts

We hope you can join us for this session and look forward to welcoming you along.
