CeeD are delighted to be partnering with Flexibility Works, Talent Beyond Boundaries and Nine Twenty Engineering to bring you an interactive workshop on Thursday 23rd March 2023 from 10am to 1pm and hosted by CeeD Sponsoring Members VOLVO Construction Equipment & Rokbak in their Centre of Excellence.  The workshop continues the ‘War on Talent’ theme given recruitment and retention remain a key business priority with the session continuing to explore current challenges and dig deep into a potential solution – flexible working. The workshop will feature guest speakers offering practical ideas, a panel discussion, peer to peer learning and networking.

The labour market is tight and 35% of Scottish workers are currently looking to move job. Nine in ten (89%) said flexibility was an important consideration in their decision so conversations about flex need to be on the table. We know flexible working is more challenging in frontline organisations, but we have seen recent examples where it has been possible to create more flexibility and new ways of working in our sector and we will share examples of companies that have introduced greater flexibility – how they did it, why, and the impact!

Nikki Slowey, Co-Founder and Director of Flexibility Works Scotland will lead our discussion on flexible working. Nikki is one of Scotland’s leading experts in flexible working and has dedicated the past eight years to directly supporting and encouraging employers to create flexible workplaces.

Karen Stewart, Managing Director of Nine Twenty Engineering, and a CeeD board member will share latest trends and challenges impacting recruitment along with ideas and solutions that organisations are proactively developing to attract the right skills and talent.

Beth Nichols, UK Partnership Lead of Talent Beyond Boundaries. Beth will talk about the Displaced Talent Mobility Programme, which is currently being piloted in the UK, connecting skilled people who are displaced, with employers looking for talent.

We are hosting this event in support of the Scottish Government so please come ready to share your thoughts about the role you think Government can play in helping you adopt new more flexible working practices.
