Having already secured a multi-million pound funding boost through the Ayrshire Growth Deal, the Spaceport is now working on the creation of a space supply-chain network, with the coming weeks expected to bring confirmation of its first partnership with a launch provider, with the first commercial rocket launches planned to take place from autumn 2023.
Mick O’Connor, Programme Director, Prestwick Spaceport will share how they will Build upon a proud Aviation history by discussing:
- - Horizontal vs. Vertical Spaceflight: the difference?
- - Currently in RIBA Stage 1: evaluating CONOPS, airspace policy, mission system architecture i.e., LSO, LSP and RSP.
- - Collaborating with many partners including other Spaceports as part of the UK Spaceport Alliance.
- - Recent Ayrshire Growth Deal announcement of £80M will allow us to:
- - Establish Spaceport infrastructure.
- - Create an Aerospace and Space Innovation Centre.
- - Build commercial workspace.
- - Construct new road infrastructure.
- - Creation of 4000 new jobs by 2035.
