A COVID-19 Medical Device Case Study: SME collaboration with SMAS and MDMC

A COVID-19 case study of 3D swabs with Abergower Ltd with MDMC and SMAS.

This webinar is jointly organised by the Medical Device Manufacturing Centre (MDMC) and the Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service (SMAS), incorporating a COVID-19 case study of 3D swabs with the company Abergower Ltd.

SMAS and MDMC representatives will introduce their business support services and facilities, followed by a panel discussion with Mr Robin Prior, Managing Director of Abergower Ltd, Mr. Jerome Finlayson from SMAS, Prof. Marc Desmulliez, MDMC Project Manager, and Ms. Gillian Macleod from Scottish Enterprise.

The webinar will:

· Provide an overview of the services that SMAS offers to SMEs

· Describe the manufacturing facilities of MDMC

· Present the work achieved to support the company, Abergower Ltd

· Explain the new support mechanism that Scottish Enterprise will offer to SMEs

This event will be of interest to manufacturers seeking information on the types of support provided by SE, SMAS and MDMC . It will also help to inform SMEs in understanding the journey they may encounter in having medical devices tested in Scotland.
