The Scottish Government’s 5G Strategy and the Scotland 5G Centre (scotland5gcentre.org) stress the importance of advanced communications technologies in supporting economic development and social benefit.
The benefits of these new technologies are beginning to emerge from early use-case development across several key sectors, with manufacturing as an obvious example.

Acknowledging this, CeeD, in partnership with the Scotland 5G Centre, will co-host a roundtable event for senior members of Scotland’s manufacturing sector to consider the implications for retaining Scotland’s competitive edge and the measures required to enable this.

In this short introductory session, examples of emerging best practice will be used to illustrate and inform a discussion around the value of this technology to Scotland’s manufacturing sector.
