CEED in collaboration with MICM

Innovation is increasingly the business survival skill of our times. Yet successful innovation takes much more than having great ideas. It requires people who can bring others along, take ownership and turn possibilities into action.

Every organisation wants to improve, but how often do good ideas lose momentum because nobody feels able to take the next step? Like a relay baton, an idea may pass between people with different perspectives and skills, but someone must make sure it reaches the finishing line.

Join Nadia and Neil for a practical, interactive three-hour workshop exploring how innovation and ownership work together to make improvement happen.

We'll look at why opportunities are recognised but not acted upon, why responsibility gets passed upwards, and why good ideas stall between teams or departments. We'll explore how different mindsets and perspectives encourage innovation, and how clarity, confidence and authority help people take ownership rather than wait for someone else to act.

Through practical activities and shared exploration, we'll consider how communication and collaboration help maintain momentum and create the conditions for people to contribute.

You'll leave with a fresh perspective on innovation, a better understanding of what enables ownership, and practical ideas for moving opportunities towards meaningful improvement in your organisation.

Target audience

Team leaders, supervisors, process owners, operational managers and others responsible for continuous improvement, collaboration and making change happen. Particularly relevant where good ideas struggle to progress, ownership is unclear or decisions are routinely escalated.

What we'll explore

Innovation: It's Easier Than You Think

Innovation is something that we are all capable of; we do it often without realising it.  Often, it starts with looking at something familiar differently and recognising that things could be better.

We'll explore the human side of innovation and how different perspectives, different mindsets, and the ability to bring people together turn ideas into innovations.

Ownership: Turning Good Intentions into Action

How are you creating the fertile conditions for innovation to take place?

We'll explore the importance of clarity, confidence, authority, and what helps people move from recognising an opportunity to taking responsibility for making it happen.

The Innovation Relay: Connecting People, Ideas and Action

Good ideas are just the beginning; if they are to become innovations then they need people to develop them and make things happen.

We'll bring innovation and ownership together through practical activities and shared exploration, looking at how organisations can keep the momentum going and avoid dropping the baton along the way.
