Highly engineered products are expected to perform reliably for years, often in demanding environments, yet development timescales rarely allow for years of testing. This practical half-day workshop will explore how organisations can predict, test and improve reliability earlier in the product lifecycle, helping to reduce risk, avoid costly failures and accelerate product development.
Hosted by Thales UK, the event will begin with a welcome and business update from the host organisation, followed by presentations from Martin Shaw of Reliability Solutions and Dr Suzanne Costello of Forensic Eyes.
Drawing on real-world industrial experience, the session will examine how accelerated lifetime testing can be used to predict product performance and how failure analysis can provide valuable insights that improve design, manufacturing and long-term reliability. Through practical examples and discussion, delegates will gain a greater understanding of how reliability engineering can support innovation, quality and performance across a range of technologies and applications.
This workshop is aimed at engineers, researchers, PhD students and technical managers working in product development, advanced manufacturing, electronics, materials, microsystems, advanced packaging and continuous improvement.
This event is being delivered in partnership with the University of Glasgow's REACT (Responsible Electronics and Circular Technologies) Centre. REACT is the UK's first research centre dedicated to advancing sustainable electronics, bringing together academic and industry partners to develop more durable, reliable, repairable and recyclable technologies. Through collaboration, innovation and knowledge exchange, REACT supports organisations in improving product performance and longevity while helping to address the environmental and economic challenges facing modern manufacturing and electronics industries.
