Dr. Duman will explore exciting opportunities for collaboration through Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) in the field of cybersecurity.  This session will highlight how partnerships between academia and industry can drive innovation, strengthen resilience and deliver real-world impact.

With over a decade of experience in both cybersecurity research and practice, Dr. Duman brings a wealth of expertise to the discussion.  During his PhD, he collaborated with a major Canadian power company, Hydro Quebec, working directly on real-world security challenges.  His work has consistently focused on developing innovative solutions, including new security metrics for quantitative cyber risk assessment, enhancing the security of smart grids and cyber-physical systems and building tools to help organisations defend against emerging supply chain attacks.

Dr. Duman is particularly interested in working with industry partners to both advance academic research and translate it into practical applications.  At this event, he will outline how organisations can collaborate with GCU through KTPs to address technical challenges and create impactful, mutually beneficial solutions.

The session will cover

  • Insightful overviews of Dr. Duman’s work tackling complex cybersecurity challenges and the real impact these solutions have delivered for companies
  • Interactive discussion on the key cybersecurity challenges currently facing organisations
  • Practical examples of potential areas for collaboration between industry and academia
  • Open Q&A session with the opportunity to explore project ideas and partnership possibilities
