CeeD is supporting a Glasgow City Region project that is exploring innovation related skills across engineering and manufacturing. The project aims to build a clearer picture of current capability, future demand and where skills gaps may be emerging. It also looks at how organisations currently access these skills, including internal development, recruitment, external specialists and engagement with colleges and universities.
As part of this work, we are hosting a roundtable with engineering and manufacturing organisations from across the region. The session will gather practical insight into how innovation happens within businesses, the strengths that already exist and the areas where further development would make the greatest difference.
Discussion themes will include:
• Experiences of innovation within engineering and manufacturing settings
• Skills that support successful innovation activity
• Common strengths and recurring areas for development
• Barriers that limit innovation capability
• Differences or similarities across organisations
• What companies feel they need most in order to innovate effectively
The session is designed to be conversational and reflective, drawing on real experience from across the sector. Insight gathered will directly support the wider project and help shape future activity across the Glasgow City Region.
