SharePoint is a great place to store, manage and collaborate. It allows organisations to manage access, build document approval, retiral and change processes as well as a host of great features like lists, automated workflows and AI.
One challenge many engineering and manufacturing organisations struggle with is the best way to manage their drawings and designs. Access to CAD systems can be expensive and require expertise, but many users simply require an easy place to go and explore drawings. One answer to this is to build a drawing office in SharePoint, where you store PDF copies of all CAD drawings, making them much more accessible to the entire organisation. This allows any changes or improvements to be owned and controlled by the product owner while still providing visibility to wider teams.
Another great use case for SharePoint is for things like the nonconformity register. You can easily create a register to track any issues or improvements needed within your solutions that allow your wider team to log them and your product team to work through these.
In this session we talk through how you would go about this within SharePoint. SharePoint is a great place to manage all of your documents and file processes, and we can talk through how we help other engineering and manufacturing organisations do just that.
