CeeD sponsoring member Thales invite you to join them for a rare opportunity to visit and see their state of the art Manufacturing and Engineering facility in Glasgow.  The visit on Wednesday 28^th August from 10am will introduce you to the Thales UK business and include a tour to see what they do and how they do it with a networking opportunity around a buffet lunch. 

Thales has held a significant presence in Scotland for over 100 years and now employs over 750 people across two main sites in Glasgow and Rosyth. They are a major contributor to the Scottish economy, investing over £140m in 2023 alone and supporting a diverse supply chain.

The Glasgow site, formally established as Barr & Stroud Ltd in 1888 is the oldest business line of Thales in the UK, with expertise in optical-electronic (Optronic) systems in support of land, sea and air forces.

The team at Thales in Glasgow have also established an armoured vehicle centre of excellence, building on decades of experience in complex military vehicle-sight integration by highly skilled engineers and manufacturing employees.

Thales has a strong commitment to invest in our future talent and in 2023 invested in 22 apprenticeships and 45 engineering graduates.
