CeeD and fellow member Veolia would like to invite you to visit Scotland's largest wastewater treatment works (WwTW), in Leith, Edinburgh.
Date: 21st November 2023 – from 10am to 13:00pm approx.
Agenda to include:
Venue: Seafield WwTW, Seafield Waste Water Treatment, 20 Marine Esplanade, Edinburgh EH6 7RF
Seafield WwTW treats the wastewater from a population equivalent of 850,000, generating over 100% of its own energy in the process which it also exports to the national grid. Veolia has also invested in technology that allows them to create over 100 Tonnes per week of a fertiliser product which is used in agriculture as a replacement for traditional chemical fertilisers.
Attendees will hear from key people within the Veolia team at Seafield WwTW, who will be happy to take questions.
Veolia are looking to build their network of partners across Scotland and to identify any areas of potential collaboration between CeeD member organisations.
Please take advantage of this rare opportunity to see what happens at Seafield WwTW
Demand has been soaring in recent years amidst a public clamouring for understanding of this critical piece of infrastructure. The annual open day run by the site regularly books up within hours, something recognised by a host of news organisations including the BBC, Mail, Sun and Edinburgh Evening News as extraordinary.
More broadly, Veolia aims to be the benchmark company for ecological transformation, and is committed to tackle climate change, resource depletion, biodiversity collapse, and pollution. By expanding the use of existing solutions, and developing new innovative solutions, the company is accelerating the process to radically change patterns of production and consumption and placing ecology at the heart of every process.
