 al Control with Star Refrigeration and Saliqo
DESCRIPTION:The world runs on industrial control. A typical in
 dustrial plant has hundreds to thousands of contro
 l loops to regulate variables such as temperature\
 , pressure\, flow\, level\, speed and position. Ye
 t most control loops still rely on fixed-gain PID 
 control: a technology over 100 years old\, that ca
 n lose performance as loads\, equipment and operat
 ing conditions change.\n \n Join CeeD\, Saliqo and
  Star Refrigeration for a practical session on mov
 ing beyond repeated tuning and reactive manual opt
 imisation. We will show how Saliqo&rsquo\;s model-
 free adaptive control software adds an intelligent
  control layer directly to existing PLCs and embed
 ded hardware - without cloud infrastructure\, comp
 lex plant models or additional hardware.\n \n Sali
 qo combines a deterministic\, aerospace-derived co
 ntrol core with AI-based adaptation. The AI augmen
 ts engineered logic rather than replacing it\, all
 owing the controller to adjust continuously as pro
 cess dynamics change while retaining predictable b
 ehaviour at the edge.\n \n The session will centre
  on Saliqo&rsquo\;s work with Star Refrigeration a
 cross industrial freezers and chillers. Saliqo&rsq
 uo\;s control technology is operating in 17 system
 s across 10 industrial sites\, with challenging ap
 plications including compressor capacity control\,
  coupled-vessel level-control and valve position f
 or superheat control.\n \n Attendees will see the 
 operational case behind the technology: reported r
 esults include a 60% reduction in overshoot\, a 50
 % improvement in temperature tracking\, reduction 
 in &nbsp\;commissioning time and labour\, more tha
 n 150 maintenance hours saved per year and a 15% e
 nergy saving through optimised economiser operatio
 n. We will also discuss what was required to integ
 rate the software into existing PLC-based systems 
 and where adaptive control may create value elsewh
