POSITION SUMMARY/PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Main responsibility is to ensure Customer satisfaction with product quality and this is achieved via responsibility for all aspects of Quality Assurance including Supplier, Manufacturing and Systems and by maintaining a good customer relationship. The Quality Engineer is responsible for driving continuous improvement and establishing and implementing process and product controls

JOB DUTIES:

• Maintain a good customer relationship on nominated accounts via timely and clear response to queries and complaints.
• Involvement in APQP activities including the development and implementation of Control Plans to ensure product / process critical requirements are achieved. This would include the specifying of test and inspection requirements.
• Internal and supplier auditing.
• Analyze production, supplier and customer data and take the lead on quality improvement or corrective action activities relating to product or process needs.
• Development of procedures, policies, training etc as necessary to meet above requirements.
• The role may include the responsibility for other members of the quality department e.g. Quality Inspection/Test Technician

REQUIREMENTS

• It is essential that the candidate has 2 years relevant experience of quality tools and techniques such as Six Sigma, ISO9001 / TS16949, internal auditing, customer relationship management etc.

• Computing skills essential, in particular the ability to accurately communicate to customers and internally using a variety of tools such as web mail, customer portals, MS Office tools etc.

• Knowledge of IPC Inspection Standards is desirable

• Degree (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent

• Good inter-personal skills to motivate co-workers and drive projects internally, and to present a competent image of Sanmina to the customers engineering and commercial organizations
• Ability to work within an international organization
• Ability to work both independently or within a multi-functional team
• Experienced in the application of statistical techniques
• Experience within the Automotive sector is desirable

Product Design Engineer
Main tasks and responsibilities
• Designs, modifies and manages activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production and release.
• Serves as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing as the product(s) move to completion and distribution.
• Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product’s lifecycle, from product release through maintenance of the product and end of life decisions.
• Promotes investigation and application of new technologies and industry trends to product management activities.
• Ensures that products shipped meet specifications and quality goals.
• To provide close technical support to the Sanmina-SCI sales team
• Develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems.
• Determines design approaches and parameters.
• Analyzes equipment to establish operating data conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.
• Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
• May also review vendor capability to support product development.
• Directs and guides the activities of a research or technical design function responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems.
• Evaluates final results of research and development projects to assure accomplishment of technical objectives.
• Prepares and presents reports outlining the outcome of technical projects and makes recommendations for actions necessary to achieve desired results.
• Evaluates, from a reliability standpoint, the materials, properties and techniques used in production.
• Advises design engineering on selection, application and test of electronic components and systems. Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability.
• Determines reliability requirements of components and systems to achieve company, customer and any accreditation agency reliability objectives.
• Develops new acceleration techniques and analytical tools to assure the early identification of potential problems with new products, packaging, processes, and product reliability.
• Makes recommendations for changes in the selection and application of components and systems.
• May propose changes in design or formulation to improve existing systems and/or process reliability
Requirements
• Minimum 2-5 years experience in a customer interfacing design or application engineering role preferably with the automotive sector
• Electrical and mechanical design back-ground ideally educated to degree level
• Knowledge of:
BSN EN ISO 9001
ISO /TS 16949
IOS EN 14001
Using design tools which interface directly with customer’s (Pro-eng , Auto -cad 3D & 2D)
• Computer : standard office software
• Good inter-personal skills to motivate co-workers and drive projects internally , and to present a competent image of Sanmina-SCI to the customers engineering and commercial organizations

Production Design Engineer Sanmina

Predominantly providing remote support to Automotive customers, working on new product design and development of cable harnessing and cable assemblies to support the customer end application and devices. The role requires flexibility in working hours to support customer design review calls. Additionally, the role will require interfacing with remote Sanmina-SCI manufacturing sites, again in varied time zones to support design for manufacture and product launch

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Description of duties, responsibilities, and essential functions
• Design output will include, but not limited to, product models, drawings, tooling design details, fixture design, DFMEA, Control plan input, prototyping SLA’s etc

OTHER JOB DUTIES:

• The role may require periodic travel to support customer design reviews and validations, and product launch activities in remote Plants

Key  Responsibilities    
•   Help  develop  and  launch  the  next  generation  of  our  ‘Engineered  Protection’   control  systems

•   Ensure  we  comply  with  relevant  legislation  regarding  the  use  of  pressurised   rooms  and  electrical  equipment  designed  for  use  in  zoned  On  /  Offshore   environments    
•   Develop  a  process  to  ensure  all   equipment   systems  are  ATEX  /  IECEX   compliant    
•   Lead  the  development  of  new  products

•   Become  the  ‘centre  of  excellence’  within  the  company  for  the  range  of  products   and  services  offered.    
•   Assist  in  the  promotion  of  our  products  and  services  to  the  market  by  providing   technical  support  to  our  customers.      
Requirements    
•   Degree  qualified    
•   Proficient  in  use  of  3D  modelling  systems  
•   Ideally  chartered  
•   Fully  conversant  with  the  requirements  of  ATEX  /  IECEX  certification  
•   Experienced  in  the  refurbishment  and  recalibration  of  electrical  equipment  for   zoned  applications.  
•   Existing  knowledge  of  the  design  of  pressurised  Habitats  /  Gas  sensing   equipment  would  be  beneficial.  
•   Ability  to  travel  internationally  as  required
